I’m an English-born Australian who, after years of studying archaeology, teaching primary school children and being mother to three beautiful kids, is now setting out as a freelance illustrator. Hopefully, one day I’ll add published writer to that list.

I always wanted to be a children’s writer and illustrator. As a child, I dreamed of being the next Beatrix Potter. I copied her pictures endlessly in my spare time, until I felt confident enough to create my own. I still have quite a few of my early sketch books. I only hope I’ve improved since then!

So why didn't I become a children’s writer and illustrator? That's a good question, and one I can’t really answer. Let’s just say I got side-tracked. Then I hit my 40^th birthday and decided it was now or never. I did a writing course, managed to land a few illustrating jobs and now I’m rolling in the general direction I dreamed of all those years ago.
